Si on excepte encore son attitude de sodomite mondain de mettre la
pression sur l'arbitre.... Il y a une déclaration solide de Mourinho
Jose urges fans to behave After a week in which English fans have been involved
in violent clashes abroad, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has appealed to
Blues supporters to help generate a peaceful atmosphere during their
game in Valencia. Fans of Manchester United and Tottenham were both involved in
crowd trouble during trips to see their sides perform in Europe last
week, with concerns being raised over heavy-handed policing in both
Rome and Seville.
Chelsea travel to Spain for the second leg of their UEFA
Champions League quarter-final against Valencia on Tuesday night and
Mourinho hopes that any similar trouble can be avoided.
"I hope the fans get on, that they have a beer or two, not too many though," Mourinho told a news conference.
"It is a chance for people of different cultures and languages to get together.
"I hope Chelsea can be proud of their fans and that Valencia too
can contribute to a positive atmosphere just like there was at Stamford
Bridge where there were no problems whatsoever."
Valencia secured a 1-1 draw in the first leg, giving them a
narrow advantage thanks to an away goal, and Chelsea now travel to the
Mestalla knowing they must score at least once to progress to the last
four.
The London club have issued a statement to reassure fans
making the trip to Spain that all efforts are being undertaken to
ensure their trip is a safe one.
"In light of recent events involving travelling English fans
with their clubs, Chelsea Football Club would like to reassure our
supporters that every step is being taken to ensure their safety for
the second leg against Valencia," read a club statement.
"The safety of our supporters is paramount.
"The two clubs, both sets of supporters and the various English
and Spanish authorities enjoyed excellent dialogue and relations in the
organisation and staging of a trouble-free first leg and that tone has
continued in the run-up to the second leg."
Uefa is set to investigate the ugly scenes during Manchester
United and Tottenham's trips abroad, but Valencia's local police do not
anticipate any antagonism with the Chelsea fans as the focus switches
to Tuesday's game.
"We are not expecting any problems, we have many big clubs
here and have had English clubs before and there have never been
problems," said a police spokesman.
